Biography:

Jacob R. Lofgren joined Collins, Liu & Lyons in the summer of 2009 after moving to Colorado from Iowa. Mr. Lofgren practices in the areas of family law, criminal law, and criminal appeals. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lofgren spent a year serving as law clerk to the Honorable Daryl Hecht, Associate Justice of the Iowa Supreme Court.

Mr. Lofgren was a lifelong resident of the Midwest (Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Iowa) prior to moving to Colorado in the summer of 2009. Mr. Lofgren attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa receiving his Juris Doctorate with high honors in May 2008. While in law school, Mr. Lofgren also received his Masters of Public Administration from Drake University College of Business and Public Administration in May 2008. As a student, Mr. Lofgren captained the national moot court team, participated in mock trial, and received numerous awards recognizing his advocacy skills. Additionally, Mr. Lofgren served as notes editor for the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and his journal note, "I Miss Mayberry: Revitalizing America’s Rural Downtowns," was published in the summer of 2008.

Prior to law school, Mr. Lofgren attended Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana graduating summa cum laude in 2005 with Bachelors of Arts degrees in political science and economics, along with a minor in history. While at Saint Joseph’s, Mr. Lofgren captained the mock trial team, was a representative in the student government, and served as an ambassador for the admissions office.
